A little about Gestalt therapy
Life exists only in the now. All too often we forget this simple wisdom, and many of us live in the shadow of the past or in deep concern of the future. Gestalt therapy is a way to get into the now. Past experience and future prospects maybe color the now for you, but the process of life is in constant motion and change. Gestalt therapy is a creative and experimental way of relating to yourself in your life.

Real changes require real attention
Attention is our main working tool in Gestalt therapy. The therapy form has its focus on raising awareness on how you feel, what you see, and how you feel it? How do you fail to do what you really need?

Contact
We endure mental health problems in our society caused by failure of human contact and proximity. In everyday life, most probably we don’t think about how dependent we are on our ability to make contact, so psychological and physical needs can be met. Contact with other people depends on the contact we are able to create in our own inner life and through that, to other people.

Your body and your emotions

Gestalt therapy regards mankind as one coherent whole.
In other words, there is consistency between thoughts, feelings and bodily expressions. Both, body language and emotions are suppressed in our Western culture. In Gestalt therapy emotion and body language expresses life, it´s an important part of the personal perception of life.

Integration of emotions in the client is an important part of Gestalt therapy.

Entrenched patterns
Large parts of the personality can be hidden and frozen behind a tailored appearance.
Life feels "empty" behind this mask, created by past events. They are emotionally “jammed” and therefore binds the energy of the now. Gestalt therapy dissolves - if you want - the patterns that prevent you from being alive and in contact with yourself and others.
